Antivirus & Antispyware Software
Antivirus software is a computer program you install on your computer to detect, prevent and quarantine or remove malicious software programs including viruses and worms. Computer viruses and worms are computer programs that are deliberately designed to interfere with your computer’s operation, record, corrupt, or delete data or spread themselves to other computers. Your risk to your computer becoming “infected” may increase the more you surf the internet. To prevent your computer from becoming “infected”, you should update your antivirus software on a regular basis (we recommend following your antivirus program’s guidelines).
Most antivirus programs enable you set these updates to run automatically.
Antispyware is a computer program you install on your computer to help protect against unwanted pop-ups, slow performance and security threats caused by “spyware” and other intrusive software. The possible security threats you may encounter include the collection and relay of your personal information or unauthorized changes to the configuration of your computer, Uninstalling these programs may be difficult, so the just as with virus and worms (above) the best solution is PREVENTION. You should update your antispyware on a regular basis (we recommend following your antispyware’s guidelines). Most antispyware enables you set these updates to run automatically.
